Todd Barman, Principal for Barman Development Strategies, LLC, has worked more than 23 years in the development field and has more than 19 years firsthand Main Street experience including three years as a local Main Street program Executive Director, six years as a State Main Street Coordinator, and seven years as a National Main Street Center Program Officer. With a background in landscape design and urban planning, Mr. Barman is a leader nationally in the areas of historic commercial district design and economic restructuring/vitality. His primary duties include the development, coordination and delivery of issue specific technical services and training.
His areas of expertise include capacity building and evaluation of local Main Street programs and statewide/regional Main Street coordinating programs, organizational and community planning, entrepreneurship, targeted market research, and historic commercial district market position. Mr. Barman and his wife also own a late 1930’s gas station which they are in the process of rehabilitating for his office and her retail business. Mr. Barman thus has firsthand experience with commercial market research, commercial appraisal, environmental assessment and remediation, municipal codes and permitting, commercial financing, general contracting, negotiation, and relationship building.
